If actor Woody Harrelson could choose anyone living or dead to patronize his Los Angeles marijuana dispensary’s “Ganja Giggle Garden,” he says he’d pick a classic cannabis icon: Bob Marley. But he conceded that he doesn’t think he could go “toke-for-toke” with the late reggae star.

During an appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on Monday, the host posed the hypothetical to Harrelson, asking who he’d most like to invite to the marijuana consumption lounge attached to the dispensary he co-owns with Bill Maher called The Woods.

“Bob Marley,” Harrelson replied.

Colbert then asked the actor to “examine your conscience” before answering his follow-up, which was whether he felt he could “go toke-for-toke with Bob Marley.”

That is, could he match the cannabis legend’s tolerance for a smoke sesh?

“I don’t think so,” Harrelson said sheepishly, adding that he “used to hang out with” Marley’s mother and “couldn’t go toe-to-toe with her or toke-to-toke.”

“She was serious,” he said.

Last week, Harrelson discussed cannabis in an appearance on Joe Rogan’s podcast.

The actor was also recently involved in marijuana reform advocacy in California, calling on Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) to sign a bill legalizing marijuana cafes that passed last year. The governor did give the measure final approval last September.

The actor separately disclosed in 2017 that used cannabis to help get through a dinner with President Donald Trump.
