ROYAL OAK, Mich. – A 15-year-old from Royal Oak is facing charges after reportedly burglarizing a marijuana dispensary, breaking into a home and leading police on a high-speed chase.
According to authorities, the juvenile is believed to be responsible for breaking into a house located near the intersection of McLean and Lincoln avenues on July 26 before ransacking a marijuana dispensary on Meijer Drive, near Cummingston Park on Aug. 3. Police said they found a window smashed out while responding to a call about the burglary alarm at Gatsby Cannabis Company.

With the assistance of the Troy Police Department, officers executed a search warrant at the teen’s home in Royal Oak on Monday, Aug. 5. Police reportedly found more than $100,000 worth of stolen marijuana and related merchandise before taking the boy into custody.
Police also believe he was responsible for a high-speed chase with a Royal Oak police officer before the burglary.
Chief Michael Moore said they recovered “an astounding amount of evidence.”
The teen was charged with breaking and entering a business and third-degree fleeing or eluding police. He remains lodged at Oakland County Children’s Village.
