FAIRFIELD, Maine (WABI) – Law enforcement says more than 700 marijuana plants and 80 pounds of processed marijuana were found in a Fairfield home today.

The Somerset County Sheriff’s Office says they searched a home on Middle Road just after nine this morning.

It comes after an investigation that lasted for months involving multiple state agencies, Homeland Security, and federal drug agents.

They say no one was in the home during the search and the entire house was being used to grown and process marijuana.

They say conditions inside the home are hazardous due to chemicals, unsafe electrical wiring, plumbing, and unsanitary conditions.

Drug-related documentation and paraphernalia were also found.

The sheriff’s office says they are looking for those involved who will be facing multiple drug-related charges.
