⚖ COMPLIANCE SPOTLIGHT™

Document It the Same Day

Cannabis businesses create records throughout the entire workday. Inventory adjustments, product movement, waste, disposal, cash activity, incidents, and operational changes should be documented while the facts are still clear.

Compliance Reminder

If an activity occurs today, complete the related record today. Delayed documentation increases the risk of missing information, inaccurate entries, and unexplained discrepancies.

🕒 THE SAME-DAY RULE™

Complete the Record Before the Shift Ends

Activity Occurs

A cannabis product is transferred, adjusted, returned, wasted, destroyed, or otherwise handled.

Record Is Completed

The employee enters the required information, verifies its accuracy, and alerts management if anything does not match.

Activity Today → Record Today

✔ Compliance Checklist™

  • Required records were completed before the shift ended
  • Inventory quantities were verified before submission
  • Waste and disposal activity was documented
  • Corrections included an explanation when required
  • Discrepancies were reported to a supervisor immediately
  • Supporting documents were retained according to policy

⚠ Common Compliance Mistake

Waiting until the next day to reconstruct what happened from memory. Even a short delay can lead to incorrect times, quantities, product information, employee names, or explanations.

✍ Your Turn™

Review one record completed during your most recent shift. Confirm that the date, time, quantity, employee information, and explanation are complete and accurate.

🎯 THIS WEEK'S MANAGER CHALLENGE™

Review One Day of Records

Select one recent business day and review the records created by your team. Look for missing information, delayed entries, unexplained adjustments, or inconsistencies between systems.

Estimated Time: 10 Minutes

Discuss one improvement your team can make to strengthen same-day documentation.
