BALTIMORE (WBFF) — Baltimore Police are investigating burglaries at three different stores that sell cannabis products in the heart of Federal Hill.

The burglaries were reported over the span of nine weeks, according to authorities.

Charm City Hemp, which markets itself as a CBD boutique in the 1200 block of Light Street, notified police of a burglary on March 24, police said.

Holistic Smoke Depot in the 1200 block of Light Street notified police that it had been burglarized on April 4. Officers were alerted to the burglary around 10 a.m. that day, and learned that someone had run off with the store’s cash register, according to authorities.

Tobacco House & Gifts in the 1000 block of Charles Street, which has a neon sign above the front door advertising CBD, was burglarized on May 29.

Officers in the Southern District were asked to investigate the commercial breaking and entering in the 1000 block of Charles Street a few minutes after midnight. Once there, they learned that someone had broken into the business and taken property, police said.

Federal Hill saw a 13% increase in violent crime, a 36% increase in property crime, and a staggering increase in auto thefts at 196%, according to the Baltimore Police Department crime report that compares criminal activity in 2022 to 2023.

Police released the report at the end of April 2024.
