[#item_full_content] [[{“value”:”TEHAMA COUNTY, Calif. – Eight people were taken into custody on felony charges in connection to a major marijuana eradication operation that took place in Tehama County over the first two weeks of August.The Tehama County Sheriff’s Office and Tehama Major Crimes Unit took part in the marijuana eradication operation.During the operation, agents and law enforcement served eight search warrants at multiple cultivation sites spread around Tehama County.As a result of the operation, the following was seized by agents:9,903 marijuana plants250 pounds of processed marijuanaNine firearmsApproximately $20,000 in assets (for forfeiture)According to the Tehama County Sheriff’s Office, the cultivation sites were located primarily in remote rural areas of the county, including Campbellville, Platina, southern Tehama County, western Tehama County and Manton.During the operation, agents also located chemicals and other materials that were deemed to be harmful to the environment at each cultivation site.Several of the firearms seized during the operations were semi-automatic firearms prohibited under California’s assault weapons laws. Agents also discovered and seized high-capacity magazines that are also prohibited under California law.The Tehama County Sheriff’s Office says these operations are part of an ongoing effort to identify and eradicate illegal marijuana cultivation, particularly operations that impact public safety and cause environmental damage.Anyone with information regarding illegal marijuana cultivation or related criminal activity is asked to contact Tehama County Sheriff’s Major Crimes at (530) 529-7920.
